To manage a team of 70+ people at one time, overall 200 people within the transport department including drivers and clerical staff. To ensure store service targets and driver productivity targets are met and that stores have the correct stock delivered on time, and in the correct condition. To ensure all operations are carried out in a safe and legal manner. You will be working closely with the Warehouse loading operation.
You will be switched on and used to working in a fast paced environment with a real desire to succeed and progress in your role. You will have extensive transport and logistics experience.
Your time will be divided as follows:
35% coaching and developing drivers and clerks to enable them to do their jobs to the best of heir ability.
35% analysing performance trends and putting action plans in place to improve performance.
20% reviewing delivery schedules to plan and resource for the next.
10% in operations or planning meetings.
Your working week will be based on a shift pattern based on 5 out of 7 days per week. Shifts are as follows:
6am-2pm
2pm-10pm
10pm-6am
Although this role may include night shifts they are very rare as there is a transport team manager that does nights only. However, when this person is on annual leave and the shift needs covering you may be required to work nights then.
